Nobody ever wants to be visiting the ER with their pet. But if i have to do it, I would choose this place over and over again. We rushed our GSD here, coming from an hour and a half away. From the moment I explained what was happening on the phone, they were instantly concerned and supportive and very kind. Im sure all of the surgeons here are amazing but I want to give a special shout out to Dr. Dean. She explained what was happening with our boy in a very heart to heart humanly way and I really appreciated that. Her energy felt very trusting and her concern was real. She performed an emergency splenectomy and explained everything about it and the reason for it.
I really appreciated that she spoke to us like she knew us and I could tell she genuinely cares and loves animals.
The ladies at the front desk were just as great! For a place where I received the worst news possible, I will forever be grateful to everyone working there that night.
I’ve taken my dog here twice for “Urgent Care” type things (eye infection and then yeast infection in his ears) We couldn’t wait for a vet appointment. They are very quick here and affordable! I recommend this vet to anyone needing an emergency vet or their pet has a problem that can’t wait. They were so sweet to my baby and so compassionate to us.
I have used this clinic since 2001! There have been times that I have been very frustrated with them, mainly because of the cost. I was in my 20’s when I started using them (first experience was 2 puppies I got from Putnam animal shelter that had parvo). I was young and broke but I paid their fees and both pups lived! Multiple times I have had to go with emergent situations. I am now a medical provider for humans. I work in emergent situations every single day. I understand how emergency medicine works. I understand the wait, and the cost. Last night my 15.5 year old basset hound, with a laundry list of conditions, made his 4th and final visit since December. Hands down, 10/10 rating for the staff and clinic. Dr McCall was the finest medical provider anyone could have asked for. Human doctors could take lessons. Her staff, I commend you. I am a lot because of my medical knowledge, but I acknowledge it is with humans, and I trust their abilities. Our old buddy was made comfortable immediately. We were by his side from the second we got there, he never left our site. We had a true emergency, and it was treated accordingly. Understand that medical professionals “triage” situations and emergency medicine is based on acuity, not first come first served. As for pricing, veterinarians have extensive education. They don’t just treat one species (like a human doctors) they treat MULTIPLE. They must have knowledge of your dog, cat, ferret, hedgehog, lizard, snake, whatever animal you show up with. All are different. This is a hospital, they are operating a whole hospital, that isn’t cheap. I have spent $800 dollars on normal bloodwork at my regular vet.. so 350 is a fair price in an emergency setting. Be thankful we have this resource in our community. I understand frustrations, we love our animals.. but ultimately they do too, otherwise they wouldn’t be doing what they are doing.. again, thank you to the doctor and her staff.. thank you to the super sweet receptionist, thank you to the techs in the back.. my family values and appreciates you ALL beyond words, and I know our old man does too.. 💙
