I do miss the old owner of the place he was a very good guy I have a Siberian Husky we took them there about a week ago to go get his butt checked cuz he has and just don't know collapse in his butt and they give me an estimate will be $288 to go get it fixed but when the day, jumped up to 400 and some dollars they say they cleaned his butthole out of the Dead poop that was clogging his butt but it don't look like they did nothing the new owners my dog is probably in pain and I don't know what to do I'm going to take him up to the other animal hospital in Hagerstown they open up a new one I forgot what it's called I think I might be Frontline or something

Went in for a nail cut for my pups. It was supposed to be a sedation type but before I left I asked them to try and cut their nails before any sedation is done and they said ok. I called 20 mins later and was told they were able to cut without sedation. I went to pick them up and they charged $95. I asked how much everything was. She went back and said oops there’s a bio fee which they didn’t need because nothing was given. Then it was $80.46. I asked what are the costs now. Pedicure and tech exam. I asked if an exam was needed. They said with sedations yes. I said but there wasn’t any needed. They shrugged and said well the doctor looked at them. I again said but they just got a pedicure only. Do you exam all animals for pedicures. They said no just for sedations but still charged me. I want a refund for those two charges and just be charged for the pedicures which they got. It’s not my fault no communication was given between staff.

I took my dog in for an appointment regarding a couple small growths. In the office I see a sign the card payments are subject to 2.5% fee. Not a big deal, but I mentioned I would have liked to have been informed about that when I made the appointment so I could have brought cash. The response I got was a blank stare. After the appointment, I was surprised to hear that the total was $93.50. I was a bit surprised, because the only thing we needed to do was an aspirate on one of the growths, so didn’t think the visit would amount to much more than the $55.15 exam cost. I do appreciate that fact that it takes a veterinarian’s expertise to draw and examine the fluid, but it’s certainly not an expensive test. Anyway, I don’t much mind at this point; it doesn’t seem unreasonable (yet). Then I’m told that sum due is in addition to the deposit for the exam that I already paid. I ask to see the itemized bill and was told that I’d get it after I pay. So I do, and was presented with this bill. For one thing, $5 for “bio-hazard disposal” seems a bit much to drop a syringe in a sharps bin, particularly when it’s part of the test I’m paying for. It’s not like my dog puked on the floor or anything. But the more important thing, which I asked about, is why cytology is present twice. Apparently it’s $38 to take the sample, and another $48 to look at it under the microscope. Okay. I also asked why the credit card fee is $2.50, pointing out that should only be the case if the unpaid amount was exactly $100. Turns out they use a bracketing system; the fee was rounded up from $2.34 (2.5%) to what it would be if I owed $100. There’s no disclosure about that, so, incidentally, it’s actually illegal. Of course, it’s not worth battling over 16 cents. It was just the cherry on top of my experience here. I know the vet can be expensive. It’s not my first time at a vet. But please take your pet somewhere with some semblance of transparency, instead of one where they deploy every trick applicable to squeeze you on the scale of cents.

Wish the previous vet hadn't retired. He was personable and had reasonable prices. The new male vet has no bedside skills. And for a simple nail trim and anal expression it cost $63! It use to be about $18ish for each. Even since last year they increased their own prices.
