I always get excellent service and friendly faces when I bring my overweight pug dog to Parkersburg Animal Hospital. He is treated as royalty. I am told they're actually designating a room just for him.

BEWARE OF EMERGENCIES!!! Many other vet clinics in the area allow payment plans except this one, and that’s fine, whatever. What is NOT fine is when you call in for an emergency, obviously not a normal checkup so you don’t have money saved up because it’s an EMERGENCY! They will NOT do anything to save your pets life or make their life better, if you do not pay upfront, they will send your animal home with you to die or remain sick, instead of offering a payment plan for an emergency. Furthermore, staff was nice but felt like they just wanted you to spend more money instead of actually wanting to save an animal or at least even trying to do anything for it. I also understand wait times as these businesses are very busy, but if an animal is clearly in an emergency, why would you make us wait so long? Regardless, go to other places not only for emergencies, but if you really want to support a better place, in all honesty for the safety of the animals of our community, it would be better if this place went out of business and their staff went off to better clinics in the area that are passionate about their job instead of passionate about making money. Lastly, I know all of this from experience from the fact my emergency and due to the fact that not everyone has the money to pay upfront for an emergency led to my cat dying instead of being treated on a payment plan, and now I know to go somewhere else for the love of my pets and their safety.

Everyone was very kind, professional and I felt “heard” when bringing in my senior dog to see the Vet. I did not see the Vet I had scheduled my appointment with, she was very behind due to emergencies or urgent care needed for walk ins, but they accommodated me by seeing another Vet who was great. She really took extra time with my dog and discussing her many healthy issues. I did not feel rushed and this was 6 pm on a Friday. They were great.
